Multi-Sport Athletes
We understand that many of our sports-loving players are playing multiple sports per season these days, and with town, travel, and club obligations–many of them year round–their schedules are full and families are stretched thin. We also recognize the importance of developing well-rounded, multi-sport athletes.
THIS is a great read on the importance of playing multiple sports!
Lacrosse is a spring sport at the middle, high school, and college levels, and we hope, though we do not require, that our players will prioritize lacrosse during this short season.
We ask families to keep in mind when prioritizing their weekend activities that we are a spring-only league with a short season of ONLY EIGHT GAMES. Having to cancel or forfeit even one game for lack of players makes a large impact on the team and is super disappointing for the players who show up, work hard all week, and want to play!
Should your player have to miss a game, it is vitally important that you communicate with your team or age-group manager as early in the week as possible. This allows us to try to supplement with/ substitute players from the other team(s) at each age group if game schedules/location make that possible.
If your player wants to play/practice but you are having trouble coordinating transportation to a game or practice due to other weekend obligations/ sibling sports commitments, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR TEAM or AGE GROUP MANAGER! We would love to help coordinate a carpool or ride for your player.
